MILES may separate us but LOVE keeps up CLOSE at HEART |
Thank you for visiting my blog for the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop, I'm excited to participate, despite the solemn reason for our Holiday! I love supporting Operation Write Home with cards for our troops, and I hope you are inspired to join us in supporting them through these small tokens. Information on Operation Write Home can be found at http://www.OperationWriteHome.org
For this weekends Blog Hop I chose to use Sketch #215 from March of this year.
You can see this and other perfectly inspiring sketches and tutorials at http://operationwritehome.org/sketches
My card is made using all Stampin' Up! materials. The colors used are Real Red, Marina Mist, and Whisper White. I used a heart print from the retired Sweet Treat Bags on one layer as well as in an envelope liner.
Don't Forget Your Envelopes! |
The stamps used are Work of Art (heart, and Swoosh) from the 2014-15 Catalog, and [Retired] Service & Sacrifice (sentiment). The printed paper is from the Designer Series set Polka Dot Parade. The ribbons I used are tied in Lovers Knots, because its a LOVE card! :-)

And please, as we enjoy the start of summer with our Memorial Day Weekend festivities, take a moment... From the 2014 Presidential Proclamation:
The security that lets us live in peace, the prosperity that allows us to pursue our dreams, the freedom that we cherish -- these were earned by the blood and the sacrifices of patriots who went before. This Memorial Day, as we near the end of more than a decade of war, let us never forget their service and always be worthy of the sacrifices made in our name. And today and every day, let us pray for and hold close the families of the fallen.
Monday. May 26th, 2014
at 11:00 am in your time zone unite in a prayer for permanent peace,
and at 3:00 pm in your time zone,
please pause to honor the fallen in the National Moment of Remembrance.
Thank You to our Troops, their families and loved ones.
God Bless America!
~Angie
