This card is easy, but full of texture and warmth. I used the Build a Cupcake punch to make the cupcake, candle, and "confetti". I also used the large Scallop Circle punch for tha background, and then used a technique called "Embedded Embossing". I layered all the punch pieces onto cardstock, and then used an embossing folder on the whole thing. I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder for this card.
The sentiment is stamped before embossing, and is from the Upsy Daisy stamp set. I used Black, White, and Pool Party card stocks and Pool Party ink.
I hope the new year brings you many days to celebrate!
Happy New Year & Happy Crafting!

Great idea to use a cupcake. They are perfect for birthday cards.
ReplyDeleteLove all of the texture. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteLove all the texture. Great color combination.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to put the cupcake against the scalloped background. On it's own I find it's a bit small and tends to disappear. Good job with this week's OWH sketch!
ReplyDeleteLove the texture and the technique... it's one of my favorites. You can' go wrong with a cupcake either.
ReplyDeleteI love the light blue with the white and black! The Square Lattice is probably my favorite folder!! Great job with this weeks sketch!
ReplyDeleteVery nice colors and texture. I just started using embossing folders, so it's fun to see how you did this card! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCute card, Angie! I love how you added the polka dots to the background, it's like confetti but not messy, lol :) Thanks for joining us in this week's OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge!
